Help Me Select A New Avatar
I'm looking for a new Avatar.
What I'd like is something that makes a statement about who I am and what I am about. Isn't that what a blog avatar is supposed to do? So I've come upon four that I think are intriguing and interesting.
Help me, please. Look at these and give an opinion of what you think would be a good Avatar for PastorDave.

I like the pic of you you use now. I was really surprised when you started using it, and I like it. Maybe you could photoshop it onto Charlie Brown's body?
Definately NOT the first one... nice pic and all, but for people like me? I go "yuck" when I see those sorts of cheezy representations.

i'm torn between the candle and the hand - maybe you could photoshop the two together, so it's a hand reaching towards the candle. i think that would fit your profile :) i'm leaning towards the candle though - light is so symbolic.

Those are all (well, except the first one) good choices. I am a huge Charlie Brown fan though. If you feel a personal connection with Charlie Brown, I think you should pick him :)

To All Who Have, So Far, Offered Helpful Suggestions (and to scubadiva also):
Some interesting suggestions here. I think we can forget the advice of scuba. And Snoopy is getting some votes, even though I have not suggested him. So, are you guys saying big-nosed dog who always seems to be thinking about the possibilities our beyond would make a good avatar? I'm not convinced.
The hand is intriguing. I need some more help.
Actually, I kind of liked the first one. But, I also like "Dogs Playing Poker" and have a velvet Elvis hanging on the wall.

I think you should use Pooh Bear...that's who I think you remind me of! Always there with sage advice in a kind and gentle way...ex: If you go to your friend's house and you get a little "rumbly in your tumbly", try looking wistfully in the direction of the cupboard"..that sort of good advice : )

I'm a fan of the candle I must say because like supremeanna, I think light is incredibly symbolic, but besides that, I work alot with light in my experiments in photography. Light's VERY important there.

Thanks, my T-blog friends. The Hand is the winner. What is the old saying, "You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the red-neck out of the boy"? So I was a bit leaning toward the first, until you guys started telling me in unison that it was "cheesy". And that hurt my feelings a bit; even made me take down my Velvet Elvis hanging over the computer. I liked the candle a bit, but it would be a rather conventional symbol. The hand seemd a bit mysterious, so I just threw it in to make things interesting. A liking for it has developed, and you guys seem to make it clear that it would be a good fit. It can represent the person I strive to be, and think I need to be. And, it can symbolize, very well, my understanding of Christ as One who reaches out with presence and love. Hopefully, it may cause someone to sit back and ponder for a moment.
So, thanks my friends. We will go with this one for a while.
