I've always been fascinated by the special colors of the sunset.  I immensely enjoy soaking it in while at  the beach, and especially in the mountains.  To me it is a reminder of many things: Creator, creation, and especially that so much more is out there than my own little world.

With this painting I am beginning to experiment with differing shades, and mixtures of colors.  I am pleased with the fiery orange of the sun, and somewhat with the shadings of the sky.  I've found that I can endlessly continue to tamper with my painting, but there comes the time when it is best to just enjoy it as it is- somewhat like a good relationship.

I was just having fun with you with the first painting.  Although I readily admit that it is amateurish, I do enjoy this one.

There is something satisfying about creating your own work of art.

I'm a painter, you're an artist. I go through phases when I like to paint. I'd like to go on site and paint, but usually take photographs and then interpret the photos with my paintings. This one I thought would be simple enough for my skills, since little real detail is involved. And I do like playing with slightly varying shades, as in the mountains.

Dan, I'm honored that you would check this out and say nice things about it. You are definitely the official T-blog artist-in-residence!

By the way, my eye has spotted an old barn that I would truly like to go on site and try to captire in a painting. Have you painted any barns?

Nothing wrong with uncomplicated, which I think is probably a better word for your relationships that "simple". I imagine most things about you are far from simple!

Wow... the maturity level of the second piece versus the first is pretty amazing... Three or four pics from now, watch out Monet!
