Musings Concerning Cow Manure

It is amazing some of the things for which people are willing to pay money.  Cow manure is an example.  They shovel it up, put it in a bag, and then folks like myself come along and pay good money.  It is gross.  It stinks.  And it is valuable, because it makes things grow.  It is the best thing you can put on plants and grass to make them reach proper maturity.

Trials of life are like cow manure.  They stink.  But they have a usefulness, because they can bring about growth and maturity in our lives.  I do not wish for anyone to be dumped upon; but, it is going to happen.  Guaranteed.  That's life.  Actually,  it is a regular part of living.

A key for me is to not get lost in the seeming unfairness of the situation.  Instead, I am to trust God.  He loves me, and He is wise.  I tenaciously, and sometimes it seems unreasonably, believe that God will work within the matter for good.  And the details, of course, are up to Him.

That's when growth and maturity take place.

James 1:2-4

i had never thought in my life that someday i will be commenting on cow manure but here i am COMMENTING COW MANURE.
not many trials stink though. i think most are pleasant experiences (can i say roses with thorns may be). and its important part of life to experience and learn. not many ppl try to keep away from experimenting. How much do you learn from other's mistakes. I rather like to experiment myself. let it stink if it does.

I'm glad to be of help in the expanding of your vocabulary. I'm tenaciously committed to the use of such ridiculous adverbs.

Pleasant trials? You certainly have a more "rosy" outloook than I. I find little to enjoy in many of the tough experiences of life. Saturday I was trimming some rose bushes when one of them snapped back, and a large thorn stuck into my arm. I did not laugh and say "praise the Lord!". It hurt. Is that what you mean by a thorn among the roses?

Cow manure? Were you trying to make some kind of analogy to surrogate's blog? ;-)

no..... i mean roses (the experiences) come with the thorns. and i call new experiences a rose coz they help groom your personality. every experience adds to your maturity level (if your are ready to learn).
In military when i was posted to a hard area (war zone) for 6 months, the last thing my commander said was, "face it man, this will also pass". since then whenever i go through any difficulty in my life, no matter how hard, i remember his words, and say to myself "this will also pass".
other thing i learnt is, when experimenting something new or for that matter taking any step, think of the worst possible consequences, if you can afford the worst, go for it, and if not then i think stay back. when you think of the worst, things become easier , ultimately making your life easier.
the thorn hurt you.... pain must have subsided by now. or will subside day after. It will also pass.
experiences, good or bad, enjoy them like you enjoy smelling the sweet fragrance of roses, try them , they dont stink like cow manure.
dont you think its state of mind? there are people who dont like the fragrance of roses. i am sure you are not one of those.

I was reading a book about the Grand Canyon the other day and found that they had discovered silver, copper and iron in the canyon, but it was to expensive to extract. However, the one mine that they did find cost effective was a "bat gauno" cave. They had even hired a full time guard to watch the cave so no one would steal the gauno...
