And whoever welcomes a little child like this
in my name welcomes me.

she is just precious. think about it...how you think you understand what God wants from you...expects from you... and you have your life all planned out--and you go about your business. and then boom it all suddenly looks different--and you have this beautiful baby looking at you and you realize how often we miss the point. i'm rambling...but does this make sense to you??? Sometimes God's most amazing lessons come in the smallest of packages.

That's one of the most beautiful pictures of a child I've ever seen. Trusting, loving eyes.

I certainly was not happy with K's pregnancy, and in no way did I see God at work in the matter. K continues to make me age in a hurry. But the little one is a real joy, definitely a gift from God.
I'm learning, late in the game, not to be too insistent with God or with life in general. I never dreamed this would be part of my experience. So much comes along unexpected and unprepared. And, thinking a bit, I'm actually glad life is that way. Much more interesting, much more growth-inducing. Fun? I think not. But, I can say life is good, God is good.
I appreciate the thoughtful comment.

I think she is gorgeous. I am so much more enjoying my grandaughter, probably because I'm a bit more mature and open to life's joys than I was when my kids came along. And I'll gladly hang out with this little one anytime. I hope you get to experience a grandchild sometime, and soon.

It is difficult. Too bad, because I don't think we are made for it to be difficult. Childlikeness comes naturally. This so-called adult insistence upon analyzing everything, and holding back on commitment and enjoyment, is not natural. So many of us try to be absolutely too tough. But, not my little one. She so enjoys life, is so open to learning and relationships and fun. She teaches me a lot.

you know. when our Skyler was born, the next day, I sat my four children down, and said "I have lied to you"..they were confused. I said "I once told you I could NEVER love anything more than I love you. I have lied. I love this baby more. Sorry about your luck, get over it." LOL. it wasn't EXACTLY that way, I am NOT that hard, but I think you know what I am speaking of. Our children are almost grown, some grown. The grandbabies are totally helpless and wonderful to love. They need every bit of love they can get. And, we as grands have an abundance of love to give them exclusively.
Rock on Grandad!

Thank you. But, surely I am not old enough for the moniker "gramps".

What a little doll she is!
Thanks for sharing the picture. It is fun for me to think about pictures like that when I am doing monotonous every day things and send happy thoughts and prayers.
