It has been a long, long time since I've seen Cool Hand Luke, but it is indeed a memorable movie. Paul Newman being beaten by the big guy, and refusing to quit. Boiled egg eating contest. And, of course, the sharpshooter with the mirrored sunglasses. It was good.

You know, Tom Cruise The Personality is a grating and irritating individual that I want to stay far from. Don't like him. Yet, I very much like two of his movies, A Few Good Men and The Last Samurai. You should see the latter, a truly good film.

It took me a while, but yes, I remember that part of the movie also. Cruise is so good in this movie. And Demi Moore? It is probably the only performace of hers that I like. Nicholson? Always, always the best.

I do like several of his movies; Top Gun, A Few Good Men, Rainman ~ but I've not seen Last Samurai (will check it out)

Just one part of a movie script that is pure gold:
Harvey: Guns or knives, Butch?
Butch: I don't wanna shoot with you, Harvey.
Harvey: (pulling his knife) Anything you say, Butch. Sundance, when we're done and he's dead, you're welcome to stay.
Butch: (to Sundance) Listen, I don't mean to be a sore loser but, when we're done and I'm dead, kill him.
Sundance: (smiling at Harvey) Love to.
(Harvey squares off)
Butch: No, no, no, not until me and Harvey get the rules straightened out.
Harvey: Rules??!! In a knife fight??!
(Butch kicks Harvey in the crotch)
Butch: Okay, now that we got that straight, someone count '1-2-3, go!'
Sundance: 1-2-3 GO!
(Butch kicks Harvey in the face, knocking him out)
News: (one of the former conspirators) I was really rootin' for ya, Butch!
That's a movie that just never gets old.
Also, any line uttered by Jack Nicholson in Batman.
I don't seem to share everyone else's dislike for Tom Cruise, but I do second Pastor Dave's admiration of both A Few Good Men and Last Samurai, and I'd also like to ad Minority Report (based on a book by one of my favorite authors, Phillip K. Dick) and Collateral.

I like Minority Report, also. So, seems I like quite a few Tom Cruise movies. Can't stand watching him in an interview, though.
