missing my friend

"Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever." - Psalm 125:1 (NLT)

In loving memory of Doris...

Ah, but is not that a great scripture? Secure as a mighty mountain.

Peace like a river. Strength of a mighty mountain. Even when it is tough, life is good.

Thanks PD :)
- What is the verse about Eagles wings??? can't remember it exactly.
...Here's one that gets me through ..... " I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me" (verse?) - can't remember the verse for that one either, but I have it written on a large piece of construction paper right above my art/computer room door ;)
- I'm not looking forward to getting through Christmas this year - my good friend passed away just last January - I still remember Christmas day like it was just yesterday...I did make it through Thanksgiving though - with The Lord's help of course

Thanks. Her experience is all part of the grand scheme of life. It brings me time to pause, but not really to be overly saddened. I will see her again, then better than ever.

Isaiah 40:30-31
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Thank you PD - I remember a song we sung in school, with part of that verse in it. (Can't remember the title of the song though)...

Untill we are all called home PD. May the Lord's peace be yours.

Thanks. We all know such is simply a part of life, and I truly believe faith in Christ gives a great answer to those who grieve. Still it is hard.

A very nice thing for you to say.

Since you are so much younger than me, I'll not get to miss you.

More about Doris? Everyone liked Doris. She was always in the background, doing what needed to be done without fanfare and without demand for recognition. She was fast to sometimes flare with irritation, but just as quick with magnanimous forgiveness. She wore a sly smile. And even when sick and elderly, always sought to do her very best. And she was stubbornly independent, a quality I personally admire quite a bit. You would have liked her.
