Angie Harmon- I Like Her. I Wonder If She Can Act?

Photobucket First of all, I am not familiar with this person.  But what she has to say reveals something to be liked about her character.  In the liberal bastion of Hollywood, this kind of talk is likely to bring trouble.  For instance, what happened to Tom Sellick?  Unless she is drop-dead gorgeous and an established mega-star, she will lose money for daring to challenge the establishment.  Still she has opened her mouth and said something critical about our Rock Star President.  And, refreshing to me, she has dared to challenge the tiresome, intellectually weak, and patently unfair assumption of so many Obama-maniacs that criticism of him is automatically to be labeled as racism.  It’s a tried and true way to bully the thoughtful person who may happen to simply disagree.

Here is my take on the political, social, and religious opinions of the Hollywood elite:  Just because you can perform before a camera does not mean you have especially perceptive insight in such matters.  What you think is really of no more value than the average person on the street.  Except, you have a platform that most do not have.  Therefore you have access to the attention of millions of people.  So you open your mouth and people listen.  What do Sean Penn or Julia Roberts really know about complicated issues of life faced by the everyday people of America?  Who cares about their solutions and their preferred candidates?  Apparently a lot of people want to listen to their pontificating on the issues of the day.  And I guess that is okay, in the same sense it is okay for the blowhard at the coffee shop or the Freshman from College to wax eloquently about their political persuasions.  Just take it for what it is- a good bit of passion, combined with a heavy dose of ignorance, and all of it should be open to inspection.

So, with the preceding disclaimer, I present some select quotes from Angie Harmon- who is not a racist:

“If I have anything to say against Obama it's not because I'm a racist, it's because I don't like what he's doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you're called a racist.”

“I also think if W or John McCain or Reagan would have gone and done a talk show, the backlash would have been so huge and in his face, and 'What is our president doing? How unclassy!' But Obama does it and no one says anything,”

It is refreshing to see a sitting president acknowledge one of the platforms used to help get them elected.

And Reagan was nothing but a Hollywood actor at one point. Are you suggesting he knew nothing about politics?

Different Hollywood, different time, different world. And, if I recall correctly, Reagan was a Democrat and Union man in his early years, before retiring from acting and entering politics.

My point is that it is surprising and refreshing to hear someone from Hollywood speak something other than the liberal mantra.

Would you be so critical if actors were spewing a conservative mantra?

Umm ~ I don't think she can act very well. She is pretty, but that is about all. IMHO anyway!

ohh come on you know were just racist. After all we are from Bama. How can we disagree with someone so cute and well spoken. How could he ever make a bad decision. I bet you don't even agree with what his wife say's.
LOL

So, she doesn't like what Obama's doing. Okay. That's easy to say. Maybe you can post some of her ideas about what ought to be done?

Going on a talk-show is unclassy? Why? You prefer your President to act like royalty? I'll bet the fact they're getting a dog and he's answered questions about it is proof he's not worthy too. No, wait, that must be okay, That's tradition by now going back fifty years or more.

I've never heard one REAL idea from the people who've criticized Obama, other than the same old crap that put us in this toilet.

Hey Steve! My goodness, an old friend from High School days, dropping by to say hi! You are right. This highly flawed man is elevated to cult status, and those who so worship him seem to think criticism of him to be something to be taken personally- to be a personal affront. How sad they have such a low sense of personal esteem.

That's a fantasy world. Part of their little fraternity is to embrace all things liberal. They are members of the Elite, those of nobler character than the rest, and of course being "Elite" is to know better than the rest what is good and right.

You seem to be saying there can be no valid criticism of this president. Good grief, where do I start? You really should broaden your sources of information, even if you do not agree with what you read and hear. Concerning Harmon, I really do not know what she believes. This is based on one interview I have read in which she criticizes the man. She is brave to do so, and sadly foolhardy. Let's see if she continues to find work.

I'm not saying that at all, but I am saying that criticizing is easy. "I don't like what he's doing", is easy. Unfortunately, there havn't been any alternative ideas presented that aren't rehashing the same old B.S. Now, if you know of some, and can point me in the right direction, I'll be happy to read them. But please don't tell me that lowering taxes on the richest folks and gutting the safety net is the answer. I'm sick of that bull. Greedy people created this problem and I'll be damned if I'll put up with morons telling me that "more of the same and everything will work out fine". And PLEASE don't send me to any sites that try to tell me that it's the fault of poor people trying to buy houses that caused this, unless and until they use REAL statistics. It was not and is not the fault of people who got sold a bill of goods by shysters. It was caused by too little regulation on crooks who bundled mortgages that were never meant to be security instruments, let alone be used as something allowed to be leveraged FORTY to ONE. Those odds are greater than those offered by casinos on a double-zero roulette wheel, and people YOU support thought that was just hunky dory. God almighty, it's insane and it's what Barrack Obama has to deal with.

Funny. I notice that the people who screamed bloody murder while the market went down during the first six weeks of Obama's presidency have been quiet as church mice as it's risen steadily during the last month. -Disingenuous morons.
